To reserve transportation with S.A.B.E.C. it is necessary for the patient to contact the organization at least 48 hours<\/strong> prior to their medical appointment. The patient will be requested to furnish a complete name, phone number, address, and date of birth. Additionally, the patient will be requested to furnish the name and address of the appointment\u2019s destination as well as the date and time of the appointment.<\/p>\n

A volunteer will call the patient to confirm the date and time of departure. A volunteer will pick up and return the patient to their home on the agreed upon date and time.<\/p>\n

S.A.B.E.C. presently has 65 volunteers throughout the Haut-Saint-Laurent MRC available to transport and accompany patients to their medical appointments. Volunteers donate their time but patients are required to contribute to the cost of the transportation in accordance with the applicable fee schedule.<\/p>\n
